Ukraine adopts legislation on common roaming area with EU
MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed amendments to the national legislation on implementing European regulations concerning roaming, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Verkhovna Rada's statement.
The Ukrainian parliament passed the legislation at the end of May. The amendments enable Ukrainians to use their home cell phone plans while staying in European Union countries on a permanent basis without paying extra for roaming services. Citizens of EU countries will have the same rights while visiting Ukraine.
The European Commission in 2023 proposed including an agreement on a free roaming area with Ukraine in the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
