Leroy Merlin to continue operating in Russia under Lemana PRO brand
MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - DIY chain Leroy Merlin will rebrand and continue operating in Russia as Lemana Pro, the company said.
The rebranding will be carried out in stages. The first stores will be revamped by the end of 2024, and the process will be completed in 2025. The company will update its logo.
It said in a press release that the new name contains elements of the French words Leader (market leader), Maison (house, space) and Nature (nature - a reference environmental and social responsibility). The "Pro" highlights the role of construction and home improvement professionals, proactive approach and design solutions for clients.
"The rebranding will not affect the company's ongoing business, relationships with partners, customer service or the work of employees. No organizational changes or layoffs are planned in connection with the rebranding. All hypermarkets, dark stores and distribution centers will continue to operate as before," the press release says.
Lemana PRO (Leroy Merlin) specializes in the sale of goods for the construction, decoration and improvements for homes, cottages and gardens. The company opened its first store in Russia in 2004. It now has 107 hypermarkets, 11 dark stores and six distribution centers.
The Russian operating company is Le Monlid LLC (formerly Leroy Merlin Vostok LLC). A UAE company, Scenari Holding LP, became the owner of 99.99% of the LLC in December 2023. The French group Adeo retained another 0.007%.
The French company said in March 2023 that it planned to transfer control of its Russia business to local management.
