Russia becomes fourth largest supplier of wheat to Indonesia in Q1 - Agroexport
MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Russia exported 491,000 tonnes of wheat totaling $138 million to Indonesia in the first quarter of the year, thereby placing the former among the top four largest suppliers of wheat to the latter's market, the Agriculture Ministry's Agroexport center said, citing ITC Trade Map data.
Russia resumed exports to Indonesia in May 2023 after a 2.5-year break, Agroexport said.
Indonesia is among the world's top three wheat importers with Egypt and China.
Agroexport's preliminary calculations indicate that Russia has the potential to export 2 million tonnes of wheat and meslin totaling over $480 million per year to Indonesia.
