Belarusian industrial output up 8% in 5M

MINSK. June 17 (Interfax) - Belarusian industrial output rose 8% year-on-year at constant prices to 83.2 billion Belarusian rubles in January-May, national statistical committee Belstat said.

Industry grew 5.4% year-on-year in January, 7.1% in January-February, 6.5% in January-March and 7.7% in January-April 2024. It rose 9.2% year-on-year in May.

Output grew in the extractive industry by 4.8% in 5M and 5.4% in 4M 2024, in manufacturing by 8.2% and 7.9%, respectively, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning 7.7% and 7.9% and in water utilities 0.8% and 0.8%.

Industry grew 7.7% in 2023, fell 5.4% in 2022 and grew 6.5% in 2021.
