Hourly power outage schedules in effect in Ukraine from 8 a.m. till midnight on Mon - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Hourly power outage schedules will be in effect in Ukraine from 8 a.m. till midnight on Monday, Ukrainian media said, citing Ukrenergo.

The electricity transmission system operator said on a social network on Sunday that restrictions will apply to a broader range of clients between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m., compared to other periods.

It explained the limitations with the power consumption growth at the beginning of the working week.

As reported, another nuclear reactor unit was placed under scheduled maintenance late last week, which increased the power shortage.

Later on Monday, Ukrenergo eased hourly power outage schedules and said that a simultaneous disconnection of more than two queues planned from 11 a.m. till 10 p.m. would be in effect for three evening hours, from 7 p.m. till 10 p.m.

"The period of broader restrictions has been cut: restrictions will simultaneously apply to two queues from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m." Ukrainian media said, citing a company statement on a social network.

On the whole, scheduled power outages will occur between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m., as announced before.

Ukrenergo explained the softer restrictions with power consumption smaller than expected because of cool weather.
