Ukrhydroenergo announces tender for 83 transformers for 5 HPP to be procured with EIB funds

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - Ukrhydroenergo has announced a tender for 57 110-154kV transformers and 26 110-330kV transformers for five hydropower plants under the Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation project, Ukrainian media said.

The open single-stage tender was announced on the ECEPP e-procurement platform - the official tender platform of the EBRD. Bids can be made from June 12 to July 27, 2024.

"The client will use some of the disbursed loan/grant (from the European Investment Bank), administered by the EBRD, to cover the cost of the contract," the announcement said.

The transformers, as well as related equipment and services, are being purchased for the Kiev, Kanevskaya, Kremenchug and Srednedneprovska hydropower plants and Dneprovskaya HPP-2.

Ukrhydroenergo launched the Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation project in 2012. It aims to renovate 21 units at Dnieper hydropower plants, namely, the Kiev, Kanevskaya, Kremenchug and Srednedneprovska hydropower plants and Dneprovskaya HPP-1 and HPP-1.

A 200-million-euro loan given by the European Investment Bank (EIB) on state guarantees is a source of funding. In December 2023, Ukrhydroenergo received a second tranche of 133 million euros from the EIB for the Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation project.

Earlier, the bank disbursed 67 million euros for the ongoing project.
