Govt proposes that parliament approve Ukraine's withdrawal from CIS agreement on priority measures protecting armed conflict victims

MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has proposed that the parliament approve Ukraine's withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) agreement on priority measures to protect armed conflict victims, signed in 1993.

"According to the document, the participatory states agree to cooperate in the prevention of a breach of human rights and international humanitarian law in armed conflict zones in the former Soviet territory," Ukrainian media said, citing the Restoration Ministry's press service.
