Zelensky meets with IMF, World Bank heads in Italy

MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President Ajay Banga on the G7 summit sidelines in Italy.

"Of course, we [discussed] support for our state, our institutions, our society with the IMF head. I appreciate the understanding," Ukrainian media cited Zelensky as saying in his video address.

He called the meeting with the World Bank head inspiring and said that it addressed support for the Ukrainian energy sector and access of people, companies and state institutions to resources for restoring the destroyed energy facilities and building new ones.

"I am grateful to the World Bank and, personally, its head for being ready for this work," Zelensky said.
