Kiev's partners launch int'l platform for Ukraine's green recovery at URC24 - minister

MOSCOW. June 14 (Interfax) - The international Platform for Action on the Green Recovery of Ukraine will become an efficient mechanism for benefiting from leading countries' experience and expert potential to promote Ukraine's green recovery, as well as a center for exchanging the latest developments and ideas.

A joint statement launching the international platform was signed by United Nations Under-Secretary-General and UN Economic Commission for Europe Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean, UN Environment Program Executive Director Inger Andersen and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Secretary General Mathias Cormann at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC24), Ukrainian media cited Ukraine's Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Minister Ruslan Strilets as saying.

This platform will create all necessary conditions for the development and efficient functioning of new green recovery projects, Strilets said.

Germany's Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection, whose head, Steffi Lemke, initiated the platform at the United for Justice. United for Nature international conference in Kiev in October 2023, has already announced its financial support totaling 5 million euros, he said.
