Some Kyrgyz banks resume operations with Russian rubles, money transfer systems

BISHKEK. June 14 (Interfax) - Some Kyrgyz commercial banks have resumed operations with Russian rubles and money transfer systems.

"The operation of the following money transfer systems has been resumed for both sending and receiving: Astrasend, Unistream, Contact, and Zolotaya Korona," the RSK Bank said on its website.

Companion Bank's website announced the resumption of operations with Russian rubles and the Unistream system.

A number of Kyrgyz banks said on Thursday that they were suspending operations with Russian money transfer systems and conversion of Russian rubles to other currencies. The Kyrgyz National Bank said later that day that changes on the financial markets of Kyrgyzstan's main trade partners would have a limited effect on the domestic forex market.
