Canada imposes new sanctions on Russian individuals, entities

WASHINGTON. June 13 (Interfax) - Canada has announced further anti-Russian sanctions, including on companies "implicated in disinformation and propaganda operations," the Canadian foreign ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

The sanctions target in particular the Rossiyskaya Gazeta news outlet and the Sankt-Peterburg TV channel.

The Pobeda airline company is also on the list.

Among the affected individuals are the famous ice hockey goaltender Vladislav Tretyak and Safe Internet League chief Yekaterina Mizulina.

The new sanctions also target Russian defense companies which provide key technologies and electronic components for Russia's special military operation.

"In addition, the sanctions target entities involved in sanctions circumvention that facilitate Russia's access to sanctioned goods or to revenue from oil sold above the G7 price cap," the statement said.

The sanctions also ban the export of goods related to Numerical Control machines to Russia, it said.
