Ukraine's Ukrhydroenergo plans to restore 1 GW of capacity by winter - CEO

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Ukrhydroenergo plans to restore 1 GW of capacity by the beginning of the 2024-2025 autumn-winter period (AWP), Ukrainian media reported, citing company CEO Igor Sirota.

"The most important issue for us today is to restore 1 GW of capacity by the AWP," Sirota said, speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference, URC2024, in Berlin.

Sirota said that restoration requires large financial and time costs, and that the company's own funds and a certain share of European funds will be used in the short term from three to four months.

Sirota also called on financial organizations to participate in the company's long-term projects, including to complete the Dniester Pumped Storage Power Plant and to construct the Kanevskaya PSPP.

Sirota said that there are plans to build 2.5 GW of new capacity in the medium term.
