IFC plans to mobilize around $345 mln for wind power projects in Ukraine with total capacity of 350 MW

MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - The World Bank Group's International Finance Corporation (IFC) is planning to mobilize around $345 million for building a new wind power capacity of 350 MW in Ukraine, Ukrainian media quoted a statement on the corporation's website as saying.

This initiative was presented among other initiatives aimed at backing Ukraine at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024) in Berlin, the statement said.

These projects, which are expected to be implemented to improve energy security and support further development of renewable energy in Ukraine, are currently undergoing a comprehensive review and are pending endorsement by IFC's management and Board of Directors, it said.

As previously reported, Chief Commercial Officer of the German company Notus Energy Knud Rissel said at the URC2024 conference that the company is involved in implementing a 300 MW wind farm project in the Odessa region, the first phase of which will total 120 MW.
