MOSCOW. June 13 (Interfax) - Ukrtransgaz and Ukrnafta signed memorandums with German energy equipment producer Siemens Energy in Berlin on Tuesday, Ukrainian media reported, citing the Naftogaz Group's press service.
The introduction of innovative technologies in the operations of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities (UGS) focusing on decarbonization and efficiency improvement, as well as new projects of combined heat and power generation are identified as priorities of cooperation, it said.
"The UGS modernization remains our unconditional priority today. Joint projects with Siemens Energy in terms of combined heat and power generation based on combined cycle gas turbine technology will make it possible to provide cities with heat and electricity," Naftogaz CEO Alexei Chernyshov said.
