Scheduled blackouts in Ukraine extended by 4 hours on Tues - Ukrenergo

MOSCOW. June 11 (Interfax) - The Ukrenergo power grid operator has extended the planned hourly power outages in Ukraine by a further four hours until 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, after applying 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. blackouts on Monday.

"The period of scheduled hourly blackouts across Ukraine has been extended today, June 11. The restrictions will be in effect from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Ukrenergo as saying in a social media statement.

This is due to an increase in power consumption during a spell of hot weather and the fact that electricity is not being used sparingly, it said.
