U.S.-Armenian agreement on exchanging customs data to simplify trade - top U.S. official

YEREVAN. June 11 (Interfax) - Yerevan and Washington on Tuesday will sign an agreement on exchanging customs information, U.S. Assistance Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien said.

This will open up new opportunities for trade and will simplify trade and ties between businesses, O'Brien said at the concluding meeting of the U.S.-Armenia Strategic Dialogue in Yerevan on Tuesday.

The U.S. will continue to assist Armenia in establishing the rule of law, fighting corruption and strengthening democracy, he said.

U.S.-Armenian military drills took place last year, and Washington is expecting more in this area, O'Brien said, adding that the U.S. supports the Armenian government's reforms.
