Ukraine's Energoatom ends scheduled maintenance of 1,000MW nuclear reactor unit 10 days earlier than planned

MOSCOW. June 10 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company ended scheduled repairs of a 1,000MW nuclear reactor unit earlier than planned and connected it to the power grid on Friday, Ukrainian media said, citing the company's statement on a social network.

This third 1,000MW reactor unit has undergone scheduled maintenance before the heating season, the company said, adding that the reactor output was increasing.

"The 1,000MW capacity added by us to the power network today will significantly enhance our power grid and will provide stable electricity generation for all consumers," Energoatom CEO Pyotr Kotin said.
