Number of companies operating in Russia growing - AmCham head

ST. PETERSBURG. June 6 (Interfax) - The number of member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Russia has increased over the past year, AmCham President and CEO Roberg Agee told Interfax on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"No, it hasn't changed. Rather, the number [of companies] has even increased over the past year," Agee said.

These are not only U.S. companies but also companies who have changed their founders and have become Russian, he said.

"Thus, the number of companies in our chamber has grown over the year. We see that fewer companies are now seeking to leave the market," Agee said.

Around 10% of companies quit AmCham last year, according to the chamber's data.
