Metinvest's Pokrovskoye MM produces 2 mln tonnes of coking coal in Jan-May

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Ukraine's largest coking coal producer, Pokrovskoye Mine Management, part of Metinvest Group, mined 2 million tonnes of coking coal in January-May 2024, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from Pokrovskoye MM.

As previously reported, Pokrovskoye MM mined about 1.239 million tonnes of coking coal in January-March 2024, and there are plans to mine 5.352 million tonnes of coal and produce 2.802 million tonnes of coal concentrate in 2024.

Pokrovskaya Coal Group includes several enterprises, the key ones being Pokrovskoye Mine Management, formerly Krasnoarmeiskaya-Zapadnaya No. 1; and Svyato-Varvarinskaya Enriching Plant. The enterprises mine and enrich coking coal and sell coal concentrate.

The enterprise has production capacity of around 8 million tonnes of coking coal per year.
