Ukraine's Rada ratifies CoE Convention on Cinematographic Co-production

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada has supported a bill ratifying the Convention of the Council of Europe (CoE) on Cinematographic Co-production, Ukrainian media said, citing a statement by Ukraine's State Film Agency on Wednesday.

"The ratification of the convention will contribute to the development of the Ukrainian film industry, to the strengthening of international cultural and economic cooperation, to the expansion of access to international markets for the Ukrainian film industry, and to raising the level of Ukraine's representation at international film festivals and platforms," the State Film Agency said.

The implementation of the convention will also allow Ukraine to broaden the circle of countries for joint cinematographic co-production and to increase the number of joint filmmaking projects, it said.
