Kiev subjected to emergency power outages after exceeding consumption limits
MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian national power grid operator Ukrenergo has had to start emergency power outages in Kiev as the city has exceeded power consumption limits, Sergei Kovalenko, CEO of the Yasno energy company, said on Tuesday.
"Kiev has surpassed the limits. Ukrenergo has ordered emergency outages. The schedules are not working for now," Ukrainian media quoted Kovalenko as saying on his social account on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian media reported that the Nikolayev regional power distribution operator also warned customers on Tuesday afternoon that emergency outage schedules were likely to be applied and then announced even tighter emergency outage schedules.
