RusHydro plans to commission about 2.4 GW of energy capacity by 2028

MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - PJSC RusHydro expects to commission about 2.4 GW of electrical capacity by 2028, the company reported following the approval of its investment program and business plan by the board of directors.

"The group's investment program for 2024-2028 involves the commissioning of about 2.4 GW of electrical and more than 2.6 thousand Gcal/h of thermal capacity, as well as the construction and reconstruction of 132 km of thermal and about 8,000 km of electrical grids," a press release said.

These plans also include the commissioning of new small hydroelectric power stations, the report says. "In the investment program of PJSC RusHydro, it is planned to commission new hydropower facilities (Bashennaya, Cherekskaya and other small hydroelectric power stations) from 2024-2028, as well as modernize existing hydroelectric generation facilities; this is aimed at increasing the safety and technical reliability of the production equipment," the release says.

RusHydro also mentions its plans for modernization, namely projects for the "reconstruction of the Vladivostok CHPP-2, the construction of the Khabarovsk CHPP-4, the Artemovskaya CHPP-2, the second stage of the Yakutskaya GRES-2, the second stage of the Neryungrinskaya GRES, and the expansion of the Partizanskaya GRES."

The release also mentions the project for the construction of the second stage of the 110 kV Pevek-Bilibino overhead line. "The instructions discuss commissioning the line in 2025, however, judging from the report, the company is working on the possibility of an early commissioning - intensive construction and installation work is underway at all facilities under construction."
