EU ambassador to Ukraine attends meeting with Ukrainian PM, ministers

MOSCOW. June 3 (Interfax) - European Union Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova attended a first meeting between ambassadors from EU countries and Ukrainian government ministers, including the prime minister, last Friday, Ukrainian media reported with reference to Mathernova's post on her social account.

On the Ukrainian side, the meeting participants included Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, Deputy Prime Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina, Justice Minister Denis Malyuska, and Deputy Justice Minister Alexander Sobolev.

"We discussed key priorities of Ukraine for the next months, including the urgent energy equipment needs," Mathernova said, adding that Ukraine has lost 9.2 GW of its power generation.

The meeting participants were familiarized with "a reform matrix prepared by the government, including all the manifold conditionalities from the IMF Program, the EU Ukraine Facility, the World Bank DPO, U.S. reform list and G7 reform priorities," she said.

"I had the pleasure to present the PM and ministers with a 10 year visual overview of rule of law and anti-corruption reforms prepared by our projects EU Anti-Corruption Initiative and EU Project Pravo-Justice," she said.

As reported earlier, Shmygal said in mid-April that Ukraine had lost over 8 GW of its power generation facilities and was facing the risk of further significant losses.
