Ukrainian govt approves $7.9 bln in support from U.S., up to 100 mln euros from EIB to finance small, medium-sized businesses

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved $7.9 billion in financial and economic support from the United States and up to 100 million euros from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for financing small and medium-sized businesses, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"We're adopting a draft agreement between Ukraine and the U.S. today, which will enable Ukraine to receive about $7.9 billion in financial and economic support. These funds will be directed to the Ukrainian budget as part of the new American aid package," Ukraine media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Thursday.

The government also approved the acceptance of up to 100 million euros from the EIB to finance small and medium-sized businesses, they said.
