Ukrenergo not forecasting power outages in Ukraine for third consecutive day

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - The Ukrenergo power grid operator sees no need to limit electricity supply to consumers in Ukraine on Thursday, May 30, Ukrainian media outlets cited the company as saying in a statement on social media.

At the same time, Ukrenergo promised to inform consumers in due course should the situation in the energy system change.

As reported earlier, citing Energoatom acting CEO Pyotr Kotin, electricity supply restrictions that have been absent in Ukraine for the past two days after two nuclear power plant reactor units were reconnected to the grid may be resumed within the next few days as other reactor units will undergo maintenance. Eight reactor units are now in operation, he said. Two of them were reconnected to the grid on May 26 and May 27 upon completion of maintenance.
