Askhat Khasenov confirmed as CEO of Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas

ASTANA. May 29 (Interfax) - Shareholders in KazMunayGas (KMG), Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company, confirmed Askhat Khasenov as CEO at their annual meeting on May 28, the company's press service said.

Khasenov was also elected to the KMG board of directors.

The tenure of the former CEO, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, was terminated early.

Khasenov was appointed acting head of KMG on May 15. Prior to that he was deputy energy minister from 2022, and worked at KMG from 2019 to 2022.

KazMunayGas is the Kazakh national operator for the exploration, production, processing, and transportation of hydrocarbons, representing the state's interests in the oil and gas industry.
