FESCO launches container shipment service from UAE to Russia via India

MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - FESCO transport group (the parent company is PJSC Far Eastern Shipping Company , FESCO) has launched a sea container transportation service from the port of Jabal Ali (United Arab Emirates) to Russia with transshipment in the Indian port of Mundra, the company reported.

Feeder ships depart from the UAE to India twice a week. From Mundra, cargo travels on the group's container ships to Novorossiysk as part of the regular FESCO Indian Line West sea line, as well as to St. Petersburg via the FESCO Baltorient Line once every two weeks.

The bulk of the imported cargo flow will be household appliances and electronics. Exports include timber industry products and agricultural cargo. The first containers departed from the port of Jabal Ali to Novorossiysk on May 23. The estimated duration of the entire voyage will be about 25 days.
