Blinken to visit Moldova, Czech Republic this week - U.S. State Dept

WASHINGTON. May 28 (Interfax) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will pay visits to Moldova and the Czech Republic on May 28-31, the Department of State said.

Earlier, the Department of State said that Blinken would meet with Moldovan President Maia Sandu and other high-ranking officials in Chisinau.

Blinken will "reaffirm U.S. support for Moldova's progress on EU accession and energy security, it said.

During the visit to Prague, Blinken will meet with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky "to discuss continued support for Ukraine, collaborative defense modernization, and deepening energy ties."

In addition, Blinken will attend an informal meeting of NATO countries' foreign ministers in Prague "to discuss priorities for the upcoming NATO Washington Summit."
