Ukraine starts compensating farmers for purchasing domestically-made agricultural machinery, equipment
MOSCOW. May 27 (Interfax) - The first three Ukrainian agribusiness companies have received 25% compensation amounting in aggregate to UAH 220,000 for purchasing Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery and equipment, First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Yulia Sviridenko said.
"The businesses work in the Dnepropetrovsk, Ternopol, and Cherkassy regions. The overall value of agricultural machinery they have purchased is UAH 880,000. In particular, the agribusinesses have bought a tractor semitrailer made by SPD Petrov, an earth roller made by Service Tractor, and a mounted hydraulic rotary harrow made by Agro Prom Sfera," Ukrainian media quoted Sviridenko as saying, as reported by the ministry.
To receive compensation for purchasing Ukrainian-made agricultural equipment in the amount of 25% of its cost, an agricultural producer is supposed to choose a supplier from the list available on the Economy Ministry's website, purchase equipment, and submit an application and documents confirming the purchase to an authorized bank, it said.
The list of Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery and equipment whose purchase is subject to partial compensation by the state currently includes 6,691 items made by 64 Ukrainian manufacturers, and 31 banks are participating in the program.
