Ukraine receives over $85 bln in external financing since end-Feb 2022 - premier

MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax) - Ukraine has attracted over $85 billion in external financing since the end of February 2022, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"We have managed to attract over $85 billion in external financing in this period. Over one trillion hryvni was attracted to the budget thanks to military and other bonds. It enabled the government to finance the key budgetary expenses in full," Ukrainian media outlets quoted the prime minister as saying at a session of the government on Friday.

Ukraine has received $880 million from the International Monetary Fund in 2024 and expects to receive another $4.5 billion in budgetary support, Shmygal said.

Additionally, the European Union is planning to provide $16 billion euros to Ukraine as part of the Ukraine Facility implementation this year. Work with the United States regarding budgetary support of about $8 billion is also underway.
