Russian PM, Turkmen president have detailed discussion on bilateral relations agenda

ASHGABAT. May 24 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has described his meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat as very warm and friendly.

The meeting passed as always "in a very warm and friendly atmosphere, and there was a detailed discussion on the entire agenda of bilateral relations," Mishustin told journalists.

The Russian prime minister said his conversation with the Turkmen president addressed education, in particular mentioning the fact that over 40,000 people from Turkmenistan are studying in Russia.

"We talked about continuing cooperation in building Russian schools and opening subsidiaries of [Russian] universities and institutes" in Turkmenistan, he said.

Mishustin said he discussed plans for further contacts with Berdimuhamedov and conveyed best wishes to him and to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, chairman of the People's Council, the upper chamber of the Turkmen parliament, from Russian President Vladimir Putin.
