Mishustin arrives in Ashgabat to meet with CIS colleagues

ASHGABAT. May 24 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has arrived in Ashgabat for a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Mishustin, who is paying his first foreign visit after reappointment as Russian prime minister, will be received by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov before the meeting.

According to information from the Russian side, the CIS prime ministers will discuss broadening trade and economic cooperation, including in the spheres of energy, infrastructure and industry.

The council is due to approve the CIS energy cooperation roadmap for the period until 2035 and the action plan to optimize infrastructure and develop international transport corridors before 2030.

Russia presides in the CIS in 2024.
