Russia expected to boost pork, poultry exports to 310,000 t and 400,000 t in 2024 - AgMin
MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax) - Russia could increase exports of pork and poultry products this year to more than 310,000 tonnes and over 400,000 tonnes, respectively, the Agriculture Ministry reported following a meeting Agriculture Minister Oksana Luth held with producers and industry unions.
Recalling that Russia's agribusiness exports are supposed to grow by at least 50% from the 2021 level by 2030, to $55.2 billion in current prices, the ministry said that "a significant increase must be ensured this year already," including "increase shipments of pork, by-products and live pigs to a level of more than 310,000, and poultry meat and by-products to over 400,000 tonnes."
Luth said Russia needs to intensify work on target markets and look for new export markets.
"Producers expressed a readiness to increase shipments and confirmed export plans for this year," the ministry said.
