Kyrgyzstan plans to double GDP by 2030

BISHKEK. May 22 (Interfax) - The Kyrgyz authorities intend to double the country's economy by 2030 by ensuring GDP of $30 billion, President Sadyr Japarov said.

"We have set ourselves very ambitious goals. We expect that the Cabinet of Ministers in the coming years will ensure a growth rate that should allow us to double the economy by 2030, bringing the GDP figure to $30 billion," Japarov said at a national meeting on social mobilization.

Japarov said that the more distant goal is GDP of $200 billion by 2050.

Kyrgyzstan's GDP grew 6.2% to $14.4 billion in 2023.

The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan forecasts GDP to grow 3.9% in 2024 and 5.7% in 2025. The International Monetary Fund expects the country's GDP to grow 4.4% in 2024, the World Bank projects 4.5%, and the Asian Development Bank forecasts 5%.
