German FM sees Zelensky as Ukraine's legitimate president
MOSCOW. May 22 (Interfax) - Germany continues to view Vladimir Zelensky as the legitimate president of Ukraine after May 21, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said.
"Zelensky is the rightful and legitimate president of Ukraine. We will solve the challenges we're facing together," Ukrainian media quoted Baerbock as saying at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in Kiev on Tuesday.
The constitutions of a large number of countries ban holding elections when martial law is in force, she said.
Germany will also continue to help Ukraine carry out reforms, Baerbock said.
