Ruscon launches new railway service to ship container cargo from China to Moscow

KRASNODAR. May 21 (Interfax) - Multimodal transport operator Ruscon (Novorossiysk, part of the Delo group of companies) has launched a new regular railway service for the delivery of imported cargo in containers from China to Moscow, the Delo Group Telegram channel said.

Cargo in containers travels from the Xi'an railway station (Shaanxi province) in China to Kresty Station in the Moscow region. Transit time is 20-25 days. The frequency of departures is two trains per month with the potential to increase to four.

The statement said that the service is focused on a wide range of cargo. The first train delivered containers with goods from major Chinese automakers, consumer goods and chemical products.

Ruscon operates three container terminals located in Novorossiysk (capacity 110,000 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU)), Moscow (80,000 TEU) and the Volgograd region (30,000 TEU).

The Delo group of companies manages sea container terminals in the Azov-Black Sea, Baltic and Far Eastern basins, a network of railway container terminals, and a fleet of containers and fitting platform railcars. Founder Sergei Shishkarev owns 51% and 49% belongs to the Rosatom state corporation.

Delo Group's transport and logistics business includes intermodal container operator Transcontainer and the multimodal transport operator Ruscon, while the stevedoring business includes the DeloPorts holding and Global Ports, the leading operator of container terminals.
