SCO states' leaders to sign over 20 documents at Astana summit in July - Kazakh FM

ASTANA. May 21 (Interfax) - The heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries will sign more than 20 economic and security documents at a summit in Astana on July 3-4, Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu said.

"We intend to considerably strengthen the legal framework of the SCO. The list of final documents of the Astana summit already includes more than 20 documents in the economy, security, environmental protection and other fields. On the whole, our countries have serious expectations with regard to the meeting of the SCO countries' leaders," Nurtleu said opening a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Astana on Tuesday.

"The upcoming talks are meant to open a new era in the history of the organization. And we once again reaffirm our commitment to common efforts aimed at maintaining peace and ensuring stable development," he said.
