UN secretary-general invited to July 3-4 SCO summit in Astana - Kazakh FM

ASTANA. May 21 (Interfax) - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will attend a Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana on July 3-4, Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu said.

"A meeting in the SCO+ format involving the member states, observers, dialogue partners, as well as the UN secretary-general will be held for the first time," Nurtleu said, opening a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Astana on Tuesday.

The press service for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry has confirmed that Guterres was invited to the SCO's July 3-4 summit in Astana.
