Ukrprominvest-Agro completes sowing of spring crops

MOSCOW. May 20 (Interfax) - The farms belonging to the Ukrprominvest-Agro agricultural holding, one of the leading sugar producers in Ukraine, have completed sowing their spring crops, for which 72,900 hectares were allocated in 2024, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from the holding's press service on social networks .

Sugar beets were sown on 22,300 hectares, soybeans on 22,700 hectares, corn on 25,200 hectares, and sunflower on 2,700 hectares.

Ukrprominvest-Agro is engaged in the cultivation of crops, the production of sugar, flour, meat and dairy farming. The group's land bank exceeds 116,500 hectares. The holding's total number of cattle is 6,300 heads, and it has 12,000 pigs as well. Total elevator capacity for storing agricultural crops is 120,000 tonnes. The group's sugar business is represented by two sugar factories in the Vinnytsia region. The company supplies grain processing products to Moldova, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Israel, Palestine, Angola, Lebanon, Syria, and Vietnam.

The owner of the agricultural holding since December 2019 is Alexey Poroshenko, son of former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
