Belarus, Azerbaijan sign contracts totaling around $60 mln - parliamentarian
MINSK. May 20 (Interfax) - Belarus and Azerbaijan have signed economic cooperation contracts totaling around $60 million, Sergei Rachkov, chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs at the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the Belarusian National Assembly, said on the STV state-run TV channel on Sunday.
"Very substantial agreements in the economic sector. Contracts worth nearly $60 million have been signed," Rachkov said.
"There are agreements on joint production, which would not only saturate the Belarusian and Azerbaijani domestic markets with certain goods, but would help in the future to enter other neighboring markets, which again would meet both Belarus's and Azerbaijan's interests," he said.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko visited Baku last week.
