Russian GDP grew 5.4% in Q1 - Rosstat

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Russian GDP grew 5.4% year-on-year in Q1 2024, the State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said in a preliminary estimate.

The Russian Economic Development Ministry has also estimated GDP growth at 5.4% in Q1, the Central Bank - 4.6% and analysts in a consensus forecast for Interfax - 5.3%.

Rosstat will give more detailed Q1 GDP figures on June 14.

GDP grew 4.9% n Q4 2023, 5.7% in Q3 2023 and 5.1% in Q2 2023 but fell 1.6% in Q1 2023. It grew 3.6% in 2023 as a whole after falling 1.2% in 2022.
