USAID procures 25 hoppers for Almeida Group grain trader

MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - The USAID Economic Resilience Activity has purchased 25 new hoppers for LLC Almeida Group to boost Ukrainian agricultural exports, Ukrainian media said, citing the company press service on a social network.

"We are proud that the team of the USAID Economic Resilience Activity has chosen our company as a cooperation partner and view this as a sign of appreciation of our work and efforts," the statement said.

The company said its activity changed drastically amid the crisis. Before the crisis, Almeida Group was operating two transshipment elevators in the Lugansk region and a large regional grain trader. The facilities and products were lost after the crisis began.

In May 2022, Almeida Group commissioned a transshipment terminal at the Vadul-Siret station. Later that year, the company transshipped a substantial amount of exported agricultural products. Another two terminals of the company commenced operation at the Chop and Mostika stations afterwards. Now the company is building a multimodal terminal at the Vadul-Siret station to increase the capacity and broaden the range of exported goods.

Later on, Almeida Group plans to expand its fleet of grain hoppers and to boost the exports of agricultural products by truck.

The company said that the new hoppers would ramp up its logistic and export capacities and thanked the donor project for cooperation.

Registered in 2008, LLC Almeida Group specializes in purchase and wholesale trade in grains and international transport and logistic services.

As reported, RMF Karpaty will make 300 grain hoppers on the orders from the USAID Economic Resilience Activity in 2024. The hoppers are meant for agricultural exporters.
