Rusnano reaches agreements with Chinese companies on cooperation in industrial waste disposal, transport logistics
MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Rusnano has reached agreements on industrial waste processing and disposal, as well as on developing logistics projects, with Chinese companies, with the corresponding agreements having been signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China on Thursday.
An agreement with Harbin Juesheng International Trade and Economics Company deals with the launch of advanced environmentally friendly product and technological solutions for industrial waste processing and disposal in Russia and China.
In particular, the agreement envisages the implementation of projects for launching technologies for non-standard timber and timber waste processing to make wood and coal coke in Russia with the potential use of future end products by the economy of China and other states. The first such plant, with an annual capacity of 36,000 tonnes, is expected to be launched in the Irkutsk region in 2025.
Another agreement was signed with Shanghai Caroad Energy Technology Co. It aims to boost transport capacity with a gradual localization of hybrid energy solutions on transport. The investment in the project is estimated at $1.2 billion.
In particular, it is planned to launch and localize the production of innovative traction batteries and the necessary infrastructure in Russia, including a chain of charging stations on Russia's federal and regional motorways for international and intercity transportation.
"The project aims to boost the effectiveness and competitiveness of cargo transportation, increase transit capacity, broaden 'narrow places' and balance the burden on the country's transport infrastructure," Rusnano said in its statement.
