Ukraine quits several other CIS agreements
MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a decree terminating Ukraine's participation in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) agreement on establishing the Joint Consultative Commission on Disarmament, signed in Bishkek on October 9, 1992.
Under the decree, published on the presidential website, Zelensky tasked the Foreign Ministry with notifying the Belarusian government on Ukraine's withdrawal from the aforementioned agreement Ukrainian media said.
Zelensky also signed a decree to terminate Ukraine's participation in the agreement of the CIS heads of state on the Armed Forces and the Border Guard Forces, signed in Minsk on December 30, 1991.
Another decree allows Ukraine to quit the CIS Strategic Forces Agreement, signed in Minsk on December 1991, and the Agreement on the Status of the Strategic Forces, signed in Minsk on February 14, 1992.
One more decree signed by Zelensky terminates Ukraine's participation in a number of decisions by the CIS Council of Heads of State regarding Ukraine's participation in the CIS Council of Interior Ministers. Specifically, it withdraws Ukraine from the decision on the CIS Council of Interior Ministers, signed in Moscow on January 19, 1996, the decision amending and supplementing the provision on the CIS Council of Interior Ministers, signed in Chisinau on October 9, 2009, and the decision amending and supplementing the provision on the CIS Council of Interior Ministers, signed in Dushanbe on September 3, 2011.
