Ukrainian ports boost cargo transshipment 1.7-fold YoY to 38 mln tonnes in January-April

MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Ukrainian ports handled 37.7 million tonnes of cargo in January-April, growth of 1.7-fold year-on-year, Ukrainian media reported, citing a statement from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

Ukrainian port operators handled 9.9 million tonnes of cargo at seaports in April, nearly double the previous year's volume, with grain cargo, the largest share, rising to 6.3 million tonnes from 3.9 million tonnes the previous year.

Cargo turnover at Black Sea ports totaled 7.7 million tonnes in April, of which 5.1 million tonnes were agricultural products, the USPA said.
