State Duma approves Anton Siluanov as Russian finance minister

MOSCOW. May 14 (Interfax) - The State Duma approved the candidacy of Anton Siluanov for the post of Russian finance minister on Tuesday.

Siluanov was first appointed finance minister after then Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin left the government in September 2011. Siluanov first became acting finance minister and was officially appointed to this post in December of that year.

Siluanov was appointed first deputy prime minister and finance minister in Russia's new government in May 2018. He retained the post of finance minister in Mikhail Mishustin's government in January 2020.
