State Duma approves Grigorenko as Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - The State Duma approved Dmitry Grigorenko, proposed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as Russian deputy prime minister at a meeting on Monday, an Interfax correspondent reported.

Grigorenko will remain in charge of finance and supervision in the government. He will also coordinate digital development and communication, as well as anti-monopoly policy. Grigorenko will retain the post of head of the government administration.

Grigorenko was born in Nizhnevartovsk, Tyumen region, on July 14, 1978. He graduated from Kuban State University's Institute of Economy, Law and Natural Sciences and the Kuban Institute of International Enterprise and Management in 2000. He worked in various positions in the Taxes and Duties Ministry and in the Federal Tax Service in 2000-2003. He became deputy head of the Federal Tax Service on October 4, 2013.

Grigorenko was appointed deputy prime minister on January 21, 2020.

Final decisions on the distribution of deputy prime ministers' powers will be approved by the prime minister after the State Duma considers the candidacies and after additional consultations between Mikhail Mishustin and the president.
