State Duma approves Patrushev as Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - Dmitry Patrushev was confirmed as Russian deputy prime minister at a State Duma meeting on Monday, an Interfax correspondent said.

Patrushev is replacing Viktoriya Abramchenko and will be in charge of the rural economy, the agro-industrial complex, and the environment.

Dmitry Patrushev was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) on October 13, 1977.

In 1999, he graduated from the State University of Management, majoring in management. From 1999 to 2002, he worked for the Russian Transport Ministry. In 2002-2004, he studied at the Russian Foreign Ministry's diplomatic academy, majoring in world economy. In 2004, he joined Vneshtorgbank (VTB Bank [MOEX: VTBR] since March 1, 2007), serving as its senior vice president from 2007.

On May 24, 2010, Patrushev became a member of the supervisory board at the Russian Agricultural Bank. He has been the board's chairman since May 26, 2010.

On May 18, 2018, he was appointed Russian agriculture minister.

Patrushev is a doctor of economic sciences and a recipient of state awards.

The Duma will consider the nomination of Oksana Lut as agriculture minister.
