Berdimuhamedov approves state program for biotechnology development in Turkmenistan through 2028
ASHGABAT. May 13 (Interfax) - Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree approving the State Program for Comprehensive Development of Biotechnologies in Turkmenistan through 2028.
The corresponding document was published in the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on Saturday.
Deputy Prime Minister Nurmuhammed Amannepesov presented the draft decree to the president at a government meeting last Friday. Amannepesov reported on the drafting of the State Program for Comprehensive Development of Biotechnologies in Turkmenistan for 2024-2028 by the Turkmen Academy of Sciences' Technology Center jointly with relevant ministries and agencies, the newspaper said.
"Its main goal is to increase science's role as part of reforms in all sectors of the country's economy, in particular, to accelerate the development of innovative technologies for producing environmentally friendly, energy-saving, import-substituting and export produce through biological science and biotechnology," Amannepesov said.
The document tasks the Academy of Sciences and relevant ministries and departments with ensuring the implementation of the State Program.
