Russian fuel market is stable, important not to allow overstocks at refineries

MOSCOW. May 13 (Interfax) - The Russian fuel market is stable, and it is important to prevent refineries from overstocking; there is currently no need to reduce fuel quality requirements, candidate for the post of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said while speaking in the State Duma.

Commenting on the possibility of reducing the requirements for the quality of gasoline allowed for sale on the Russian domestic market, he said, "These measures are not required today thanks to the government's preventive measures to ban the export of gasoline and increase the priority of petroleum products for railway transportation. The situation is stable. Our economy, enterprises, and population are being provided with petroleum products. This is also evidenced by the stable situation on the wholesale market. Moreover, today it is important to prevent overstocking at refineries; we will closely monitor this."
